| This lab was designed to prove the gravity constant. We let the "pendulum" (just a weight on a string, hanging from the ceiling) sway back and forth ten times. We timed how long this took and divided by ten to find the period T of one pendulum swing. We also measured the distance from the ceiling to the middle of the wieght. We then plugged this into the eqation T = 2psqrt L/g. Using these numbers, most of us got a number 9.7-9.9. Since the gravity constant is 9.8, our results were pretty good |
