Galileo's Water Clock Lab

What we did: We were trying to prove that gravity provides constant acceleration.  We did this by using the ramp and marble to show the effects of gravity in a slower way than just dropping something.  We used drops of water as a timing method.  We could have used an actual timer.  One person said aloud every time a drop of water falls.  Another person makes a mark where the marble is when the say "drip".  As the marble goes further down the ramp, it travels faster in between drops.  This is because gravity is an acceleration acting on the marble to make it go faster.
This graph shows how far the marble travleled in between each drop.  The graph curves, showing the time distance relationship.

This graph shows what it looks like when you square the time.  The straight line shows that gravity provides uniform acceleration.
