Figure out what's faster, a meteor flying at 12mi/sec, or a super bullet from a magnet gun flying at 20Km/sec and tell how much faster it is than the slower object.  (answer in m/s)








I run clockwise around a circular track (radius is 50m) at 4m/s.  When I am exactly at the halfway point, what is my velocity?







Two flies simultaneously spy a fresh cowpie.  If one was 12m away and moves at 2m/s, and the other was 10m away and moves at 1.25m/s, then how much time can the first fly to arrive have to eat in peace before the other fly arrives?  (seconds)








While stuck in traffic, waiting for a very slow train to pass, I noticed an interesting scene on the train...    The train was passing from my right to my left at 3m/s.  Inside a train car, I could see a man walking toward the rear of the train (toward my right) at 3m/s.  He was stuffing a sub sandwich into his mouth at .2m/s.  Upon this sandwich I could see a frightened bug (I have incredible eyesight) running away from the man's mouth at .75m/s.  According to another passenger seated on the train, what is the speed of the bug? You and I run a race.  We start at the same time.  I start moving at speed X.  For the whole race you move at speed 3X.  I continue my 1X speed for one quarter of the distance of the race.  At that time, what must I increase my speed to in order to at least tie you?
